Supporting Children, Youth, and Families in Greater Vancouver since 1990

Family Support Service (FSS)

Parents living on the North Shore with children under the age of 19 are eligible for this free, 8-12 session, Family Support Service. Family support workers are trained parent educators and facilitators who work directly with you and your family to promote healthy patterns of communication, increase cooperation, and connect your family to additional community services and supports. Services can be delivered in the family home, in the community, at the office, or online. Hours of service are flexible and include evenings.

Family Support includes the following:

  • Parent training, education and skills development to increase connection and promote more cooperative behaviors from children/youth.
  • Creating strategies for limiting screen time, addressing poor school attendance/performance, sibling conflict, and peer struggles.
  • Helping parents to network and collaborate with schools, health services, and other community services to increase support for their children and teens.

To set up this service for your family, please call our Central Intake Line at (604) 987-1411, leave your contact information, and ask for a referral into the Family Support Program.
