Living in Families with Teens is a voluntary counselling program for Parents/Caregivers of youth (12-18 yr.) who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship.  It offers education and support to parents/caregivers and their teens (teens, though very welcome, are not required to participate in LIFT).

LIFT is designed to help parents and caregivers as they navigate parenting through the teen years.  We can help you:

  • explore family relationship patterns and processes
  • recognize strengths
  • understand teen behaviours
  • build confidence in chosen parenting approaches
  • develop strategies for managing conflict and stress
  • enhance family connections

This is a Free and Confidential Service offered with funding from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).

LIFT services can be accessed through self-referral, or formal referral agents such as the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH), School District 68 and other community service providers.

LIFT provides screening, assessment, transition planning, referral, coordination and case consultation as appropriate for referred parents/caregivers.
