Scott is honoured to be able to provide counselling services to the North Shore community. With ten years of experience in helping people, Scott works with individuals looking for support with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, conflict, relationships issues and more. He strives to create a warm and safe environment for his clients while developing a strong therapeutic relationship. Scott’s strength is building rapport with individuals of all ages, identities, and life situations. He takes a non-judgemental and empathetic approach in getting to know his clients.
Scott believes in a holistic approach to counselling and integrates different approaches in his work with individuals utilizing cognitive-behavioural, person-centered, solution-focused and mindfulness therapy. He brings a humanistic perspective to his work wherein clients are viewed with the potential to grow and learn from past experiences and to develop skills to address the challenges they encounter. He uses a bio-psycho-social approach to the conceptualization of the client’s issues and in treatment strategy.
Scott Walter is completing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University.
