Millie Batta

Millie (she/her) recognizes that seeking counselling can be a vulnerable step that requires courage and strength. With this in mind, she considers counselling to be a sacred space and strives to provide a safe and non-judgemental atmosphere. Millie focuses on creating a collaborative and trusting relationship, where clients feel seen and heard in each session. She works to empower individuals while collectively working towards their goals of change in a way that resonates with them. On this path to empowerment, her goal is to help clients discover tools and build their personalized toolbox to live a meaningful life.

The foundation of Millie’s work is based on a person-centred approach, where authenticity, acceptance, and empathy are the pillars of her counselling practice. Alongside, her lived experiences as a first-generation Indo-Canadian have helped her appreciate individual experiences and unique values. Millie believes therapy should reflect such diversity; thus, she works to tailor her approach to work in the best interest of clients.

Millie is currently completing her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Integrated Sciences from the University of British Columbia, in which she gained an understanding of the relationship between the human body and behaviour.
